The Meadows invites play and adventure everywhere you look. With so many trails, parks, and amenities in your own backyard, you will want to be outside in the warm Colorado sunshine year-round. Over 1,100 acres is planned for public use, trails and open spaces. So come out and play. Walk the dog. Train for the Bolder Boulder. Or check out Music in The Meadows and the Castle Rock WineFest this summer. The Grange Cultural Arts Center is home to dozens of activities. You're sure to find the one that is just right for you!

The Grange Cultural Arts Center

Designed to reflect the community's ranching heritage, The Grange is the heart of The Meadows. A beautiful space for meetings, dancing, and special events, it's also the place where regulars stop by for a cup of coffee and practice the art of conversation. Residents are always adding their own touch, creating groups for cooking, writers, a bridge club, a hiking club and even wine tasting events. The Grance is also a place for the family, with a children's story hour and plenty of fun summer days at the pool, complete with a zero-entry play pool and a water slide. Native Legend Open Space

Both a pedestrian freeway and a quiet network of trails that connect you to the outdoors, Native Legend Open Space and Trail runs through the heart of The Meadows. Some parts bustle with joggers, dog walkers, and kids zipping to school. It is a practical way to get around on foot, bike, or in-line skates. Other parts invite a Sunday afternoon stroll, plenty of room for a quiet hike, star gazing and practicing the names of your favorite Rocky Mountain peaks. The mountains and foothills are beautiful from Native Legend Open Space, but they also tell a story. One that's brought to life through Interpretive Learning Stations created in collaboration with the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Through five, stone monuments placed along the walking trails in the Native Legend Open Space, you can learn about the area's pre-historic plant life, geological history, fossils, and even what dinosaurs may have roamed The Meadows.

Butterfield Crossing Park

At 28-acres, this is the big park. Here you'll find two playgrounds and a 25-meter swimming pool. Butterfield Crossing Park is also home to several fields and courts – you'll come here to play soccer, tennis, basketball and baseball. In the summer, bring a lawn chair and invite a neighbor for Music in The Meadows, our popular series of outdoor concerts.

Paintbrush Park

Centrally located next to The Grange, Paintbrush Park offers two baseball fields, a soccer field, a horseshoe pit, playground equipment, a picnic shelter, and a climbing wall.  A footbridge connects the park to Native Legend Open Space, which will lead you to the East Plum Creek Trail where the possibilities are endless.  Paintbrush Park also sits adjacent to Wiggly Field, The Meadows' off-leash dog park.

Ridgeline Open Space

The newest and largest open space and trail system in The Meadows, Ridgeline Open Space is made up approximately 370 acres and over 7 miles of trails. What makes Ridgeline Open Space unique, other than its size, is that is the trails are native surface which are inviting to mountain bike enthusiasts and novices alike. The soft-surface trails travel through valleys and across ridgeline where visitors can take in view of the Front Range to the west and the Town of Castle Rock to the east as they traverse through open grassland and dense Gambel's Oak. Parking for Ridgeline Open Space is available at Bison Park, adjacent to Clear View Elementary School in the Morningview Neighborhood.

Bison Park

Sitting adjacent to the new Clear Sky Elementary School in the Morningview Neighborhood, Bison Park features two synthetic turf fields, resulting in a savings of 2.5 million gallons of water per year.  The park features four tennis courts and an outdoor classroom focusing on the theme of life cycles and seasons. Bison Park also has a climbing area with a life sized bison play structure, a sand play area, and other unique play equipment as well as wheelchair-accessible elements throughout, including accessible swings.
