Donna Mazzitelli

Family: Married, with twin teenage girls
Moved from: Danville, California
Occupation: Self-employed consultant

Donna and her family came to The Meadows from California in 2005. They were attracted to a lower cost of living, a slower pace, and a sky that’s “the bluest we’ve ever experienced.” The couple intended to join her sister in the Broomfield area but decided to buy a house in The Meadows after driving past Castle Rock. “We love the open space, trails and views of the Rockies from just about anywhere in The Meadows,” she said. “As for the future, we are very excited about having our girls enter Castle View High School next year, with its cutting edge academics."

Kent Border

Family: Married
Future Plans: Wants to go into business with his son
Occupation: Architect

Kent Border is an architect who designs million-dollar homes. When a friend was considering puchasing a home in The Meadows, Border offered to check it out – and he was astonished. “It’s a sophisticated plan,” he said.  “Organizationally, it shows an expertise on how to make people comfortable, welcome, and well integrated with nature.” In addition to the quality construction and open spaces, he likes the small town feel. He credits this to the community’s walkable scale. “The Meadows is active and filled with people who are hiking and biking," he said. "Kids are walking and playing and going to school right in their community.”
