Stop at just about any place along the Front Range and you'll have a wonderful view of the mountains to the west. But stop at The Meadows, and you have interesting views in almost every direction. Better yet, these views are made available to the whole community by an innovative land plan that preserves some of the most beautiful places for public use.
Today, residents of The Meadows can look out from Native Legend Open Space and enjoy views of the Front Range. In cooperation with the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, The Meadows showcases five Interpretive Learning Stations; stopping points that tell the story of the surrounding land, including information about the area's early settlers, the local horticulture and geological highlights. This area constitutes only a fraction of the many acres dedicated to
trails, parks and open/public space.
The Meadows showcases two large community parks. The 28-acre Butterfield Crossing Park, owned by the Town of Castle Rock, is one of the community's centers of activity. The park has two playgrounds as well as areas for soccer games, tennis, basketball, baseball and swimming.
Enjoy Castle Rock's newest amenity in The Meadows at Paintbrush Park. The park includes two baseball fields and a soccer field. Recent additions include a playground, picnic pavilion, benches and a sand volleyball court.
